Panthers  Head Coach Alvin Parker  had to be relieved that any time the Panthers needed  a leg get things done  he had Jefferson Souza in the Virginia Union arsenal.  The CIAA Special Teams Player of the year converted 15 fo 16 field goal attempts, while leading Union in scoring with 73 points. Not to mention he converted 28 extra points this past season.

Souza also took on the punting duties for the Panthers  and averaged 35.3 yards per punt. On the season the young man from Deerfield Beach,Florida was a dual threat with his leg and answered the call every time he was needed. Jefferson had two games with over 240 yards punting and one game where he placed the ball inside the opponents 20 yard line three times (Bowie State  10/26/19).

Souza registered 36 punts for 1,270 yards, with 11 punts placed inside the 20-yard line, with only one touchback.Jefferson had a season-long punt of 59 yards and was most definitely instrumental in helping  Virginia Union  finish a successful season with 7 wins against only  3 losses and an honorable mention on The Final 2019 Urban Media Today Black College Football Poll.
