NEW YORK, N.Y. — Recent Norfolk State women’s basketball graduate Da’naijah Williams will compete in the HBCU All-Star Dream Classic on Aug. 9 at the legendary Rucker Park in Harlem, N.Y.
“I am honored to represent my HBCU proudly,” Williams said. “I am excited for the opportunity to go back home and put on a show.”
The event features men’s and women’s all-star games, highlighting recent HBCU players now eligible for professional basketball opportunities. Organizers selected 40 of the top HBCU basketball players from around the world to showcase their skills on one of the sport’s most iconic courts.
Players in the event represent several conferences, including the CIAA, MEAC, SIAC, SWAC, HBCUAC, and NAIA.
The Brooklyn native appeared in all 35 games for the Spartans during the 2024-25 season, averaging 4.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. She shot 48.5% from the field and finished the season with an 86.1% free-throw percentage, the fourth-highest single-season mark in the program’s Division I history.
Williams matched her career high with 16 points and went a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line against North Carolina Central on Mar. 3.
Williams helped lead Norfolk State to a 14-0 MEAC regular season record, a MEAC Tournament championship, and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
