BALTIMORE Md. — Morgan State University is gearing up to host its annual Legacy Track Meet on April 18-19, at the Earl C. Banks Field at Hughes Stadium. This prestigious event brings together some of the top collegiate track and field athletes from across the nation.
The opening day of competition will commence on Friday, April 18th, at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw, followed by the javelin throw As the afternoon heats up, the focus shifts to the steeplechase, with both the men’s and women’s races kicking off at 2 p.m.
Running events will begin at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, setting the stage for thrilling sprints, distance races, and hurdles. Simultaneously, at 10:00 a.m., field events will ignite the atmosphere, featuring competitions in long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and javelin.
The Legacy Track Meet promises a vibrant showcase of collegiate athletic talent, drawing participants from a diverse array of institutions. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will be prominently featured, with Bowie State, Coppin State, Delaware State, District of Columbia, Maryland Eastern Shore and Virginia State to name a few. Towson is expected to also further enrich the competitive landscape. And adding an extra layer of excitement is the presence of host, Morgan State, whose athletes will undoubtedly be fired up to perform well in front of their fans.
Morgan will pay tribute to its graduating seniors during a special ceremony on the field. Scheduled for 3:30 p.m., the event will honor the academic achievements and contributions of these dedicated students as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Senior Recognition
The following is the list of the Morgan senior student-athletes that will be competing in their final home meet at Hughes Stadium. The Blue & Orange’s graduating class includes Kimani Coffee, Demier Shipley, Dante Jackson, Omari McKenzie, Zackery Dillon, Jessica Lamborn, Abigail Fisher, Deborah Adekayode, Terine Lambery and Tia Jackson.
