The Black Panther movie is one movie you need to see more than once: by yourself, with your boo, and then your crew!
It’s not just for the actors (who are stellar, by the way), but also, for the director, Ryan Coogler! Working on this project was the Super Bowl compared to other projects like Fruitvale Station and Creed, in which you may have noticed a trend in casting this one particular actor (Michael B. Jordan)! Coogler guides the camera in directions that seamlessly takes us through the characters’ lives, allowing us to feel and experience their lives as if we were extras in the movie! Teaming up with Marvel was definitely a great idea! Look at these numbers: (Credit: ComScore Inc., 2018)
This movie, even before it’s official release, broke records across the country! To date, it’s killing at the box office; grossing close to $400 million!!!
Happy Black History Month!!!!
This is what the New York Times is reporting:
After years of anticipation and months of hype, the Disney-Marvel superhero epic “Black Panther” finally debuted in theaters on Friday. The movie garnered almost universal acclaim from reviewers and earned an estimated $387 million in its opening weekend. It’s already the highest-grossing film of all time by a black director (Ryan Coogler, who also directed “Creed” and “Fruitvale Station”). And, of course, it has audiences and critics talking.
