The Bulldogs of Tougaloo showed they had the Bark and the Bite finishing the 2022-23 basketball season as the Urban Media Today Men’s HBCU National Champions! Coach Eric Strothers in his 4th year at the helm lead his Bulldogs to a 32 win and 2 loss season that included a 14-0 GCAC Conference finish. Tougaloo finished their season in the elite eight of the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
Coach Strothers’ Bulldogs join previous champions Morehouse (2017-18), Virginia State (2018-19) ,Xavier (La) (2019-20) and Talladega (2021-22). There were no rankings in 2020-21 Due to the impact of the Pandemic.
