Greensboro, NC – The Miami Hurricanes put an end to the Panthers season slipping past Pitt by 6 points in the first round of the ACC Tournament 79-73.
Isaiah Wong‘s 20 points lead the Miami attack as he knocked down 5 of his 13 shots from the floor and made the Panthers pay for placing him on the charity stripe sinking 9 of his 10 attempts. Wong was 1 of five Hurricanes to score in double figures as Anthony Walker, Elijah Olaniyi, Kameron McGutsy scored 14 points apiece and Nysier Brooks finished with nine.
Meanwhile Femi Odukale lead the Panthers with 28 points (11 of his 16 shots from the floor) while grabbing 6 boards and dishing 4 assists on the night. Three other Panthers finished with double figures as Nike Sibande added 24 points, Ithiel Horton scored 10 and Justin Champagnie finished the night with a double double (11 points and 10 rebounds).
Coach Jeff Capel’s Panthers finished the season with 10 wins against 12 losses as the Hurricanes move on to the next round in the Acc Tournament with a record of 9 and 16.
