A shining light in a disappointing season for Coach Rod Reed and his Tennessee State Tigers was OVC first team all conference Lineman Lachavious Simmons blocking for the Red,White and Blue.

The big cat started at both left guard and left tackle helping TSU finish the year with only 3 wins against 9 losses. The record was no indication of the way record #60 knocked down defenders paving the way for the Tigers attack.

Simmons a young man from Selma, Alabama started every game this past season (12) as a part of an offense that averaged 400 yards per game. The Tiger offense finished third in the OVC in total offense. Behind Simmons and the other TSU big fronts’ protection the offense averaged 260 yards through the air per outing, while only allowing 1.75 quarterback sacks per contest.
