Coming off their tough weekend at Toledo, the Bears bounced back by relying on their defense, recording six sacks and allowing just 15 rushing yards in a 27-0 shutout of the Central State Marauders at Hughes Stadium this afternoon.
Morgan State’s Erick Hunter said after the game, “We came in with a plan and was able to execute it a little better this week. We still have things to work on within ourselves to knock out the kinks going into the MEAC soon.”
Mosley, Defense Lead Eagles to Resounding Win over NCAT
Running back Chris Mosley practically lived in the end zone at Truist Stadium on Saturday, as the North Carolina Central University football program upended North Carolina A&T 62-20 in the Aggie-Eagle Classic.
In picking up their first road win of the season, the Eagles improved to 3-2.
NCCU has won four straight against the Aggies, and this marked the second straight season in which the Eagles put up at least 60 points on their rivals.

Maroon Tigers Fight Hard but Fall 35-17 to Kentucky State
Kentucky State capitalized on early big plays and a game-changing 100-yard interception return to beat Morehouse 35-17 Saturday at B. T. Harvey Stadium, handing the Maroon Tigers their third straight loss. Despite a strong offensive output and nearly 38 minutes of possession, Morehouse was undone by penalties, pass-rush pressure and missed opportunities as it readies to travel to Edward Waters next Saturday.

Bulldogs Fall On The Road
South Carolina State dropped a disappointing 63-14 defeat on the road to FBS foe South Florida Saturday (Sept. 20) inside Raymond Jones Stadium.
The Bulldogs fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Bulls improve to 3-1.
SCSU finished with 305-yards total offense along with quarterback William Atkins IV throwing 18-of-28 for 151-yards, while Jarod Washington led the defense with eight (8) tackles 7 solo in the loss.

VUU Snaps JCSU three game win streak
After a one-hour rain delay the No. 21 ranked Johnson C. Smith University fell to the No. 25 ranked Panthers of Virginia Union University 28-10 at Hovey Field on Saturday night.
The Panthers struck early, with Curtis Allen capping a four yard touchdown run just 17 seconds into the game. Brady Myers added the extra point to make it 7-0.
Johnson C. Smith responded midway through the second quarter, tying the game at 7-7 with a two-yard touchdown run by Kelvin Durham, finishing a 55-yard drive.

Late Second Half Surge Lifts Bethune-Cookman past Edward Waters, 35-9
The Edward Waters University football team battled tough through the first half against in-state foe Bethune-Cookman, but the host Wildcats used a strong second-half surge to pull away for a 35-9 victory on Saturday evening at Daytona Stadium. The defeat drops the Tigers to 3-1 on the season, while BCU improves its record to 1-3 in the early portion of 2025.
Both defenses stood tall early, keeping the offenses in check throughout the opening quarter. Bethune-Cookman broke the scoring seal with a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
The second half belonged to Bethune-Cookman, as the Wildcats added three more touchdowns to stretch the lead and secure the win. Despite several hard-fought drives, EWU was unable to overcome turnovers and missed opportunities in the final two quarters.
