PITTSBURGH – Sophomore Guillermo Diaz Graham and redshirt junior William Jeffress were recently named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball team. Diaz Graham and Jeffress are both first time honorees and the first Panthers named academic all-district since 2017.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men’s basketball honorees in four divisions (NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA) for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees were also considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Diaz Graham averaged 6.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 49.1 percent (79-of-161) from the field and 40.5 percent (32-of-79) from three-point range last season. He posted seven double-figure scoring games and one double-double, while finishing third on the team in blocks (28) and fourth in steals (27) in 17.9 minutes per game.
Jeffress averaged 1.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 10.8 minutes per game before entering the NCAA Transfer Portal at the conclusion of the season.
Both student-athletes were also among the five Panthers named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
