Gerald Wright  was a major factor on the front  line  of  The “Go-Go” Offense. An Offense that helped Coach Mike Londons’ Bison finish the season with an impressive 7-4 record. That coming from a program that had a total of 3 wins total in the previous two seasons combined. Wright and his leadership on the Bison front helped the HU offense finish number one in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference averaging 447 yards of total offense per game.

Behind bigs like Wright the Bison also racked up 217 yards per game on the ground, not to mention he helped provide protection to for the conferences rookie of the year Caylin Newton at Quarterback.

 

Wright and the rest of this years explosive offense shook up the college football world with a 43-40 win over UNLV in a game where the HU offense racked up a total of 449 yards of total offense with Wright playing Center at the heart of Bison front. Coach Londons’ offense held onto the ball for 32 minutes and gave up no sacks; the big Bison  also protected its backfield losing only 21 yards in total during the contest.

 

The Following week against Kent State the Bison Front flexed again as Howard Racked up 452 yards of total offense. The Bison had a rough game against Richmond the next weekend but the “Fearsome Five” found themselves following the loss to the Spiders as Wright and crew plowed through the Bethune Cookman defense paving the way for the “Go-Go” to rack up 500 total yards  making coaches Brennan Marion (Offensive Coordinator) and Darryl Bullock (Offensive Line) Proud.

The season high for Wright and his offensive line mates came in the game against Delaware State  where the Bison racked up 628 yards of total offense (286 yards by land and 342 yards by air). Once  the season was all said and done Howard University had eclipsed 500 yards of total offense 3 times and 400 yards of total offense in 8 of their 11 games.
