BOSTON, Mass. —- The Norfolk State women’s basketball team received the No. 8 ranking in the latest College Insider Mid Major Women’s Basketball Top 25 poll. It is the third consecutive week the Spartans have been ranked eighth in the poll.
NSU earned the No. 8 ranking following a pair of wins against UMES (70-48) and Delaware State (92-44) last week.
In its 15th season of existence, the mid-major poll recognizes the top teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.
The Spartans return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Coppin State.
