PITTSBURGH—The Steelers announced their event calendar and game themes for the 2025 season today. The upcoming season will be jam-packed with fun entertainment, family-friendly activities, and events that benefit the southwestern Pennsylvania community.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Terrible Towel. Legendary sports broadcaster Myron Cope created the towel on Dec. 27, 1975 as a way to excite fans ahead of a playoff game. Throughout the upcoming season, the Steelers will celebrate the anniversary of the Terrible Towel.

Saturday, August 16 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Preseason)
- The Steelers invite fans to ‘Family Day,’ a chance for the whole family to enjoy football, kids’ activities, and fun. Fans can learn more and purchase tickets here.
- ‘Play Football’ game celebrating youth football and highlighting local athletes.
Sunday, September 7 at New York Jets
- Steelers Run Walk will be held during Labor Day weekend at Acrisure Stadium. The annual race benefits the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund and the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research. Fans can learn more here.
- Celebrate the start of football at the Kickoff and Rib Festival at Acrisure Stadium, presented by I.C. Light, August 28—September 1. Admission is free, and you can enjoy national rib vendors, football, music, & other activities.

- The Steelers welcome fans back to Acrisure Stadium for the ‘Home Opener’.
Sunday, September 28 vs. Minnesota Vikings (Dublin, Ireland)
- The Steelers, who are slated as the home team, will host the Vikings on Sunday, September 28 in the NFL Dublin Game at historic Croke Park. This marks the Steelers’ and the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in Dublin, Ireland and Steelers Nation can bring their love of the black-and-gold to the Emerald Isle! There will be activities for fans to participate in and around Croke Park.

Sunday, October 12 vs. Cleveland Browns
- ‘Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer’ game supporting the fight against cancer through early detection and risk reduction.
- The annual Steelers fashion show, ‘Steelers Style,’ a Steelers Charities event, will be held on Friday, October 10. This is the team’s largest philanthropic event benefiting UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program, Cancer Bridges & the Chuck Noll Foundation. Fans can learn more and request ticket information here.
Sunday, October 26 vs. Green Bay Packers
- The team will showcase their new “throwback” jerseys during Sunday Night Football. • The Steelers will kick-off Halloween week by hosting Spooktacular for a second year. Spooktacular is a family-friendly activity for youth to participate in a trick-or-treat experience at Acrisure Stadium and it will take place on Monday, October 20. More information on tickets will be announced at a later date.
Sunday, November 2 vs. Indianapolis Colts
- ‘Alumni Weekend,’ brings back former players, coaches, and staff members to Pittsburgh to be recognized and celebrated during weekend activities. This year’s theme is the 20th anniversary of Super Bowl XL.
o The Alumni Weekend Dinner, a Steelers Charities event, where former Steelers share iconic behind-the-scenes stories from their time with the team, will be held on Saturday, November 1. The event benefits the UPMC Sports Medicine

- The ‘Salute to Service’ game is a representation of the yearly commitment to honor, empower, and connect with our service members, veterans, and their families.
Sunday, November 30 vs. Buffalo Bills
- The ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ game returns where players across the League wear custom cleats that showcase a charitable cause they are passionate about.
Monday, December 15 vs. Miami Dolphins
- The Steelers will celebrate the 2025 Hall of Honor Class with a halftime on-field presentation.
o The 2025 Hall of Honor Class will be announced at Training Camp this summer. o The Hall of Honor Dinner, a Steelers Charities event, will be held on Sunday, December 14, when the team officially inducts this year’s Hall of Honor class during a special ceremony at Acrisure Stadium.
- ‘Inspire Change,’ the NFL’s social justice campaign, highlights and rewards those who are making a difference and allows fans to learn about the incredible work they are doing to make the region better.
TBD vs. Baltimore Ravens
- The ‘Thank You Fans’ game is an opportunity for the organization to show gratitude for all the support during the season and year-round.
