Panthers Add Lau to 2025 Recruiting Class

PITTSBURGH – Pitt basketball bolstered its 2025 recruiting class with the recent signing of international prospect Henry Lau. The 6-8, 195-pound small forward signed as a developmental player with the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL).

Lau averaged 15.0 points, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting 52 percent from the field and 92 percent from the foul line at the 2025 U20 Australian National Championships. He also competed in the 2024 U18 Australian National Championships where he posted 13.0 points, 2.8 assists, 2.1 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

Lau was dominant during his high school career earning Player of the Year honors after averaging 28.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 6.0 blocks per game in his final season at Sydney Boys High.

With the addition of Lau, the Panthers have now added seven newcomers to the roster for 2025-26. Lau is the third signee without collegiate experience, along with Omari Witherspoon (St. John’s College) and Kieran Mullen (St. Thomas More).

Pitt has also signed four players out of the transfer portal in Barry Dunning, Jr. (South Alabama), Nojus Indrusaitis (Iowa State), Dishon Jackson (Iowa State), and Damarco Minor (Oregon State).
