The application for the second annual Alan & Mary Jo Lincoln (AMJL) Scholarship Program is now open. The scholarship aims to support career driven African American high school seniors who’ve taken an active role in their schools and communities. Eligible applicants must also plan to enroll as a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school for Fall 2021. A total of $1,000 will be awarded.

Alan and Mary Jo Lincoln are the owners/operators of Riverside Sales Group LLC. ALMJ believes in supporting the educational advancement of future African American leaders. Their goal is to reward African American youth who are actively committed to their school and local community and to alleviate some of the financial burden of college/trade school attendance.

The inaugural 2020 scholarship recipient was Ms. Kailen Whitfield (pictured above). Ms. Whitfield graduated with a 4.1 GPA from Southeast Guilford High School in North Carolina and began her freshman year in the Fall of 2020 at North Carolina A&T State University. She held a part-time job while also participating in a variety of extracurricular activities including volunteer work and founding a diversity club. After completing her undergraduate education, Ms. Whitfield plans to pursue a PhD in Psychology and start her own counseling practice.
