CLEVELAND (July 27, 2020) – Phil Steele, nationally known as one of the best football analyst in the entire country, unveiled his 2020 Preseason FCS All-Conference squads where Howard University saw six Bison named to the team, including five on the defensive side. The announcement came Friday (July 24).
Among the honorees included Dedrick Parson (Philadelphia/First Team), Darrian Brokenburr(Manassas, Va./Second Team), Ray Williams (Detroit/Second Team), Quinton Hill (Pittsburgh/Third Team), Aaron Walker (Washington/Third Team) and Christian White (Richmond, Va./Third Team).
Parson was lone Bison to make the list on the offensive side after earning All-MEAC honors a year ago. He finished second in the league with 847 rushing yards, including five TDs on the ground. In 2018, the Philly native was selected Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year.
Brokenburr and Williams earned a spot on the second team after receiving sufficient playing time in their freshman campaign. Last season, Brokenburr saw action in all 12 games where he racked up 31 tackles (25 solo) with a team-leading 3.5 sacks. For Williams, the Detroit product led HU with 61 tackles (48 solo) in 12 contests.
The trio of Hill, Walker and White made Steele’s Third Team with each Bison playing all 12 games. Hill and Walker had 56 (35 solo) and 47 (33 solo) tackles, respectively, which ranked second and third on the club. White wrapped up his rookie campaign with 44 tackles (32 solo) and a pair of sacks.

On July 16, the Council of Presidents and Chancellors of the MEAC announced the league suspending all sports competition, championship and non-championship segments, for the 2020 fall season, as a result of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
A decision is yet to be made on whether fall sports schedules will be moved to the 2021 spring semester.
