SWAC lands three on STATS 2019 FCS Preseason All-America Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The STATS FCS Preseason All-America Team was released on Tuesday with a total of three Southwestern Athletic Conference football student-athletes earning selections.
The talented team of selections goes three squads deep and features 98 players from 60 schools with at least three selections from all 13 FCS conferences.
Also included were 34 players who were named 2018 postseason All-Americans, led by nine returning first-team selections.

Alcorn State senior running back De’Shawn Waller along with fellow teammate senior linebacker Solomon Muhammad were selected as members of the second and third team respectively.

Muhammad was also named the 2019 SWAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year after an impressive junior campaign while Waller was a first team All-SWAC pick in the backfield.
Prairie View A&M senior defensive back Ju’Anthony Parker garnered a third team selection after also being tabbed a 2019 Preseason All-SWAC first team selection during the league’s preseason voting earlier this month.
