PNC is excited to announce two initiatives that will ultimately better the city of Pittsburgh. First, PNC is dedicating resources to establish a compassionate, person-centered facility for individuals experiencing homelessness near downtown Pittsburgh. The 5 story, 45,000 square-foot shelter will provide safety to those in need.  The PNC Foundation’s $5 million contribution will help provide: 95 beds, Personal hygiene facilities, Mail services, Computers and a library, and a Kitchen, dining room, and outdoor seating.

We are also excited to announce that in collaboration with PNC Community Development Banking, the PNC Foundation has provided $10 million to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).  A majority of this funding will benefit minority-owned small businesses in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.  Additionally, a percentage of the funds will be directed to support childcare providers.

The PNC Foundation has taken great strides to provide assistance and opportunities to the community.  By implementing these changes, we believe the Pittsburgh community will have more opportunities to create a profoundly positive impact.
