Pittsburgh Pa—Pitt junior wide receiver Taysir Mack, who ranks among the most productive pass catchers in the nation, was added to watch list for the prestigious Biletnikoff Award, annually presented to college football’s outstanding receiver.

Mack’s addition to the list was announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC)
Foundation, Inc., the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award.

Mack (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grand Street Campus) ranks sixth nationally in receptions (41) and 13th in receiving yards (511). At the season’s midpoint, he is on pace to become the Panthers’ first 1,000-yard receiver since Tyler Boyd in 2014.

In Pitt’s pulsating 33-30 win at Duke this past weekend, Mack compiled nine catches for 85 yards, including a twisting 19-yard touchdown grab. He was the week’s highest-graded receiver in the ACC according to Pro Football Focus, which lauded his zero drops, scoring catch and four additional receptions for first downs.

The Panthers have historic ties to the Biletnikoff Award with two prior winners: Larry Fitzgerald in 2003 and Antonio Bryant in 2000.

The 2019 Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced during ESPN's The Home Depot College Football Awards telecast on Dec. 12, live from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Winners of three consecutive games, Pitt (4-2, 1-1) is off this week. The Panthers will resume action on Friday, Oct. 18, when they visit Syracuse (3-2, 0-1) for a national ESPN telecast at 7p.m.
