Johnson playing at the Defensive End position finished the 2017 season 5th on the National Champion Aggies with 38 total tackles. What is most impressive is that this young Red-Shirt Sophomore had 15.5 tackles for loss.
Johnson and his teammates were perfect on the field this season winning the Black College National Championship with a perfect 12-0 record. The 6’5″ 226 pounder made his presence known to his opponents throwin his weight around getting pass would be blockers with a quickness getting to the opposing Quarterback 6.5 times this season. Daryl racked up a total of 62 yards in total tackles for loss yardage.
The Georgia native also showed versatility Breaking up 3 passes this season, accounting for 4 Qb hurries and recovering a fumble. Johnson had a season high 6 tackles early in the seaosn in the aggies win over North Carolina-Charlotte, He also had 5 or more tackles in a game 3 times this season.
