Blue Tigers Beat Clarke, Improve to 5-0

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Lincoln men’s basketball team shot .474 from the field en route to a 90-52 win over Clarke in Jason Gym on Monday morning (Nov. 25). The victory improved the Blue Tigers to 5-0 on the season.

Tyler Chapman led all scorers with 25 points and collected six rebounds to go with three blocks, two assists and a steal. Franck Yetna came close to a double-double, ending the day with 11 points, nine boards, three assists, two blocks and a team-high five steals. Malcolm Davis also scored 11 and had three boards as well as an assist.

Lincoln held a 51-30 advantage in rebounding over Clarke (1-6) and forced the Pride into 21 turnovers, resulting in 23 points for LU. Clarke shot .276 overall and .269 from three-point range. Lincoln, meanwhile, blocked seven shots and tallied 12 steals.

Max Ekono added nine points, a steal and four rebounds to the winning effort and also led the Blue Tigers with four assists.Fred Cuello came off the bench to provide seven points and an assist, Tyson Robinson contributed three points and a steal and Xavier Ball finished the game with five points, four boards, two steals, a block and an assist. Mikey West collected six rebounds to go with five points, an assist and a block.

Caleb Wright chipped in two points and pulled down two rebounds while Yousouf Timera had four points and four boards. Matthieu Biembongo registered two steals and scored six points to go with six points and five rebounds. Isaiah Robinson, meanwhile, closed the scoring with two points and an assist.

Lincoln opens GLVC play on Saturday (Nov. 30) when the Blue Tigers travel to Bolivar, Mo. to play Southwest Baptist. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CST.
