Benedict Announces 2024 Football Schedule

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict College, the two-time SIAC and D2 HBCU national champions, announced an exciting 10-game football schedule for the 2024 season, with five home games.

New head coach Ron Dickerson will make his Tiger debut when the season kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 1 against Virginia State University in the HBCU Hall of Fame Classic in Canton, Ohio.

Benedict will take the next weekend off, before playing their home opener on Sept. 14 against the Lane College Dragons in their SIAC opener. Benedict has won 19 consecutive games against SIAC opponents, with their last SIAC loss coming during 2021 season.

The Tigers host Edward Waters University on Sept. 21 in another SIAC matchup, before traveling to Atlanta to take on Morehouse on Sept. 28.

Benedict returns home on Oct. 5 to take on North Greenville University in a non-conference matchup between the two South Carolina schools. Benedict and North Greenville have not met since 1997, when the Tigers took a 24-21 victory.

The Tigers travel to take on Kentucky State on Oct. 12, before taking on rival Allen University on Oct. 19 in a home game for the Yellow Jackets.

Homecoming is set for Oct. 26, when the Tigers will take on Miles College.

Benedict travels to Fort Valley State University on Nov. 2, before wrapping up the regular season at home against Savannah State University on Nov. 9 for Senior Day.
