Playing a position where blocking and pass catching is not easy , but if you paid attention to the Southern Jaguars you would see a Big guy in number 42 who made it look managable. Dillon Beard and coach Dawson Odums jaguars offense  amassed over 23 hundred yards in the air this season and 000 of those yards belong to the 6’2″ Senior Tight End from Baton Rouge. Beard was ranked 10th in the conference in receiving yards per game (40.2) amongst wide receivers and remember he played tight end.

The Louisiana native looked very good in the third game of the season despite the loss  ( 48-31 to  Alcorn State). Beard hauled in 5 receptions for 37 yards  and he followed that performace up with 3 catches in the 31-14 win Fort Valley State. But his big Games came against in two wins late in October and in the firs week of November.

The games i’m speaking of were against Arkansas Pine-Bluff (4 receptions 52 yards and 2 Touchdowns) and  Prairie View (5 receptions 90 yards and 2 Tds).

Big number 42 and his performance this past season  was an intrical part of  Southern University’s 7 wins and 4 losses. Don’t be surprised if you see him on Sundays next season.
