Pittsburgh, PA—WAMO afternoon personality and UMT family, Ki Ki Brown will host her Charm School and Man Camp events for youth ages 10-17 on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center downtown from 10A to 3P.
This FREE event is focused on providing our youth with the essentials to prepare them from tween-teen to adulthood in areas of etiquette, character building, community service, social responsibility, investing, health and fitness, and entrepreneurship.
Workshops for both days will be facilitated by local business leaders and members of the black Greek fraternities and sororities in the Pittsburgh area. Registration is required and parents will be invited to participate in a parenting workshop, presented by Healthy Start (no drop offs). There will also be a continental breakfast and lunch provided by Salem’s Market and Grill.
“I hosted these events when I lived and worked in Baltimore and the responses were amazing,” says Brown. “I wanted to bring this home to help these young men and women along with their parents who could use some new solutions and resources to help guide and support them along the way.”
Keynote presenters are motivational speaker and author, Devantae Butler (Man Camp) and Alexis Walker (Charm School), Education Coordinator for the Office of Mayor Ed Gainey.
