Here’s the latest in the world of the NFL…
NFL Combine-In addition to the impressive performance by Penn State RB Saquon Barkley, there were several other NFL hopefuls who made quite the impression at this year’s NFL Combine: Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin ran a time of 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash Sunday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, the fastest time for a linebacker in more than a decade breaking the record of Stanford’s Jon Alston’s 4.40 in 2006. DE Bradley Chubb from N.C. State also made an impression as the No. 1 pass rusher in the draft. (4.65-second 40-yard dash; 36-inch vertical; 10-foot-1-inch broad jump and 24 reps on the bench press).
“I got the opportunity to be here, and I did it!”

Steelers Scout Dedicates 40-yard dash to Shazier-Pittsburgh Steelers scout Mark Gorscak on Sunday dedicated the linebacker portion of the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine to Ryan Shazier as he wore a custom “Shalieve” T-shirt. Shazier who is still recovering from a spinal injury that he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals in December and who won’t play in 2018, tweeted his appreciation of Gorscak’s honor.

Franchise Tag-So far, only 1 NFL Player (Miami’s Jarvis Landry) was offered the Franchise Tag, but that could change as the deadline to give the Tag is March 6th at 4pm. Landry’s Tag is $16 million for wide receivers and he stated that plans to sign the Tag on Friday.

Falcons, Seahawks talk trade-Apparently the Seattle Seahawks have a trade partner as the Atlanta Falcons has expressed interest in DE Michael Bennett to fill a pass-rushing need. Bennett had 8.5 sacks with the Seahawks in 2017 and would reunite with Falcons Coach Dan Quinn who was the defensive coordinator with the Seahawks before he accepted the head coaching job.
Le’Veon Bell Update-The future of the Steelers All-Pro RB is still not certain as the Steelers try to work out a deal with Bell before the March 6th deadline to place the tag on players. If the Steelers choose to place the Tag on Bell for the 2nd consecutive year, he will make $14.9 million. Steelers All-Pro C Maurkise Pouncey said he would join the contract negotiations for Bell to ensure that he gets paid the money he deserves.
