A pioneer in black entertaiment, Don Cornelius set the standard on how black America was viewed on our television sets every weekend as the host of Soul Train for 36 seasons; debuing in 1971.
Today, and those who grew up watching Soul Train, can learn and/or relive those proud moments with a new BET drama series called American Soul where the story depicts the beginning of the variety show as well as the back story of Cornelius himself and those who helped build his empire.
Urban Media Today salutes the late Don Cornelius for his vision and his stamp he placed on Black America.
