NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its football weekly honors where Howard University saw three Bison recognized for their incredible performances at the HBCU NYC Classic in Newark, N.J. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Florida natives redshirt quarterback Jaylon Tolbert (Fort Lauderdale,) and junior defensive lineman Noah Miles (Tampa) claimed MEAC Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, while first-year Bison Ke’Untae Mosley (Laurens, S.C.) took home the league’s Rookie of the Week.
Tolbert started his first game in two years against rival Morehouse (MC) Saturday (Sept. 14), completing 23-of-41 passes for 267 yards and a career-high four touchdowns.
Miles led HU’s defense with three sacks, along with a pass breakup, in the 35-21 victory over MC.
Mosley made a big splash in Saturday’s win over the Maroon Tigers, catching his first collegiate TD from Tolbert for 33 yards.
Delaware State’s Antonio Williams received Offensive Lineman of the Week and South Carolina State’s Dyson Roberts was named Specialist of the Week.
Howard plays rival Hampton Saturday (Sept. 21) in the annual Truth & Service Classic at Audi Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
