Saint Augustine’s women’s basketball player Lauren Banks has been named HBCU National Player of the Week.
Banks, a sophomore from Clinton, Md., averaged 26.0 points, 3.5 rebounds while shooting 50 percent (18-of-36) from the field and three-point range (11-of-22) in helping the Falcons go 2-0 this week. In the victory over Winston-Salem State (2/4), she scored a career-high 33 points, grabbed four rebounds and made 11-of-21 field goals and 6-of-11 three-pointers.
