Pittsburgh Steelers Update: Ben vs Mason?

Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterbacks Ben Roethlisberger (L) and Mason Rudolph (R)

In the NFL offseason, it’s biggest challenge for those watching is to find to focus on, and when they find something, they will zero in on that subject and ride it like it’s breaking news.
Like when the topic is Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, when asked about the Steelers drafting Oklahoma St. QB Mason Rudolph, Big Ben gave this answer: “I was surprised. Because I thought that maybe in the third round, you can get some really good football players that can help this team now…Nothing against Mason — I think he’s a great football player.”
What the media and fans heard “Big Ben not happy with the Steelers selection of Rudolph and is not interested in helping him.” How they came up with that, I have no idea, but then again, I do. Folks like drama.
In my opinion, I don’t see an upset Big Ben. He’s entitled to his opinion of being shocked, but he’s 36 years old and should understand that the Steelers should start thinking about the future, while trying to win another Super Bowl. Landry Jones isn’t the answer, and Josh Dobbs needs to get more chances to play, so the Steelers did the right thing.
I also credit Rudolph for shrugging off what Big Ben said and said he would’ve said the same thing. Big Ben will probably clarify his comments, but he’s not the first QB to question their team’s selection of another QB.
Bit it’s OK. This will become a non-issue in a few? Why? Because folks will focus on something else in the quiet NFL offseason.
