Panthers Earn Number One Overall Seed in NCAA Tournament for the First Time in Program History

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt volleyball team earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Tournament for the first time in program history, announced by ESPN on Sunday night.

As a number one seed, the road to the National Semifinals runs through Pittsburgh as the Panthers host the first four rounds of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Panthers begin postseason play on Friday, Dec. 6 in the Petersen Events Center as they host Morehead State. First serve is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

With a Pitt win, the Panthers will play the winner of Oklahoma/UTEP on Saturday night at 7 p.m. for a spot in the Regional Semifinals.

This marks the ninth straight season Pitt has advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers are 22-19 overall in postseason play, and Dan Fisher has an impressive 19-8 record in the big dance. Pitt is coming off three consecutive Final Four appearances and four straight Elite Eight trips.
