OWN: Onyx Woman Network Celebrates 25-Year Milestone With a Salute to Pittsburgh’s Top 25 – Anniversary Celebration

(July 25, 2016) PITTSBURGH – On Saturday, September 17, 2016, Ola Jackson, the creator of OWN: The Onyx Woman Network and publisher of Onyx Woman Magazine, will commemorate her milestone in business by honoring 25 other women of achievement.

A quarter-century of advocacy for women of color with career and entrepreneurial pursuits, Onyx Woman Magazine is looking forward while honoring past accomplishments and 25 ladies who are the embodiment of the Onyx Woman mission.

Ola says her goal for this 25th anniversary event is to be able to acknowledge other awesome women who have withstood the test of time; women who are diverse in their careers, in their businesses, in community activism, and in the political arena.

The dynamic women who were selected are referred to as “Pittsburgh’s Top 25.” Ola says, “I based my selection on my admiration for their passion to live their purpose and their mission to be a light that shines brightly enough to lead other people out of darkness, whether career-wise, politically, economically, through wellness, or through community advocacy.”

Jackson did all of this while she and her husband were raising their autistic son. The event celebration will take place at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts on Fifth Avenue in Shadyside.

Sponsors for the 25th Anniversary celebration include UPMC, Dollar Bank, FedEx, SD Transit, Moriarty Consultants, and Debbie Hickman’s Prepaid Legal Services.
