The Pittsburgh Steelers Select Alabama Running Najee Harris 

[Cleveland,Ohio]  Thursday night in the city by the lake the Pittsburgh Steelers used the 24th pick of the first round of the NFL Draft to secure a top flight running back in Najee Harris.

The former Crimson tide running back who hails from Antioch, California became the 4th running drafted in the first round from the Nick Saban regime at Alabama. The 6’1″ 232 Harris is Alabama’s all-time career rushing leader with 3,843 rushing yards  and his 4,624 all-purpose yardage places him second on the all-time career rushing list in Tuscaloosa.


The addition of the Crimson Tide running back to the Black and Gold brings with it a solid backfield threat who is the  Alabama career leader for rushing touchdowns with 46 ( Besting the mark of 42 set by Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry). Harris also averaged 6.0 yards per carry in his college career placing him third in crimson tide history.


The Pittsburgh Steelers were last in the NFL in rushing last season, but the addition of Harris would definitely be a start to changing that.  The former tide running back has many accolades including winning the Doak Walker award ( The nations top collegiate running back). As a senior Harris lead the nation in total touchdowns with 30  and rushing touchdowns with 26.
