NASHVILLE – The start of the season has been nothing short of extraordinary for the Fisk University Lady Bulldogs volleyball team, as they navigated a challenging six-game slate and emerged with a well-earned 4-2 record. Their journey was marked by relentless determination, historic milestones, and a showcase of the program’s growing legacy.

Kicking off the week’s festivities, the Lady Bulldogs swept all five HBCUAC weekly honors—a rare and impressive feat that reflected the team’s depth of talent and collective drive. Shelby Chamblin made an immediate impact, earning both Newcomer and Attacker of the Week, while Nialah Gupton‘s relentless defense secured her the Defender of the Week accolade. Kaia Barnett orchestrated the offense with precision as Setter of the Week, and Paige Browning‘s dynamic debut saw her named Freshman of the Week. These honors set the tone for a week that would be filled with achievement after achievement.

Tuesday’s match against Bryan College brought even more reason to celebrate. The Lady Bulldogs delivered a strong victory, and for Head Coach Jessica Enderle, it marked a particularly significant milestone: her 100th career win at the helm of Fisk. The achievement stood as a testament to her leadership and the culture of excellence she has instilled within the program.

The momentum did not stop there. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs faced Freed Hardeman in a match that will be long remembered, as Fisk secured its first-ever win over Freed in school history. In this landmark victory, Nialah Gupton etched her name into the record books by recording her 1,000th career dig—a crowning achievement for the defensive anchor whose hustle and heart have defined her Bulldog career.

Saturday saw the Lady Bulldogs continue their winning ways, capturing their third consecutive victory and further cementing the team’s status as a formidable force this season. Along the way, other players contributed to the growing list of milestones: Niamiah Taylor, a Nashville native, tallied her first career kill, and Nebteth Re, returning from injury, made a strong impact with 24 assists in a four-set contest earlier in the week.

With a blend of individual brilliance and collective pride, the Lady Bulldogs have set the stage for an inspiring season. As they look to the challenges ahead, the team carries not only momentum, but also the unmistakable spirit of a program on the rise—one built on grit, achievement, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence.
