Tre Tipton Receives 6th Year of Eligibility
[Pittsburgh,Pa] The University of Pittsburgh football program and head coach Pat Narduzzi has to be thrilled that the NCAA has granted veteran receiver Tre Tipton another year of eligibility.
Tipton who has played a role in Pitt football was recently granted a 6th year to compete on the gridiron; After experiencing four season engine injuries in his normal five years of eligibility. The young Panther played in 4 games his freshman year(2015), 9 games in 2016, missed the entire 2017 season and was able to play the entire 2018 season before incurring another injury cutting the 2019 season short.

The 6’0′ 185 pound Apollo Pennsylvania native has only played in 30 games in four seasons hauling in 24 receptions for 265 yards and 2 Tds. Last season Tre only played in 3 games before incurring an injury during practice ; At that point of the season the Panther had 7 receptions for 81 yards a touchdown.
Despite the set back on the gridiron last season Tipton was honored on the 2019 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. He also received the Freddie Solomon Community Spirit Award.
The 23 year old has continued to make strides off the field Through his on-campus mental wellness group called LOVE — Living Out Victoriously Everyday — that helps students deal with the stress of college life.
I know many people are or will say that Tre Tipton is lucky to get another shot at playing the game he loves. That is true , but The university of Pittsburgh football program is fortunate to have a young man like Tipton in its program for another year providing leadership on and off the field. Roar on young Panther.
