Darius excelled on the gridiron this season and his 9 sacks which caused a negative 63 yards for his opponents were more than any Eagle has accomplished in 30 plus years. The 75 total tackles he executed were more than any Eagle has accomplished in over 20 years. At one point this past season Royster gobbled up a tackle for loss in 10 consecutive games; Amazing. The big man finished third on the team in total tackles and over half of his tackles were all by his lonesome (44).

This defensive lineman had a season high 10 tackles in games against Bethune Cookman and finished 10 games this season with double digit tackles. The Chesapeake Virginia native was most definitely a bright spot despite NCCU finishing 2019 with only 4 wins against 8 losses
